The ideal candidate will provide support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards, through small group, individual and co-instructional methods.
The Special Education Teacher, or Special Needs Educator, is responsible for providing the appropriate accommodations and modifications to the set curriculum for their students. Their duties include identifying the individual needs of their students, creating a supportive and effective learning environment and ensuring their students have the resources they need to succeed.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Bachelors degree required, Master's degree preferred
- Valid PA Special Education K-12 Instructional I or II certificate.
- Prior classroom teaching experience required, prior Special Education experience highly preferred
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR US: can include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Teach a small group of students and individuals inside of the classroom
- Prepare and execute lessons and resources
- Assess the students’ work done in class
- Develop and adapt individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of student
- Use special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment
- Use special skills to teach children Braille, sign language or lip reading when needed
- Collaborate with the all other Building Teachers and Lead Teacher to build a better learning environment for the children
- Update parents on their kids’ progress and give recommendations to promote a better learning environment at home

Salary Level: According to CEA salary scale. Starting $52,632.00/year
